Occupy Furniture

People sitting on furniture. For a cause.

Occupy Furniture

Occupy Furniture was a protest movement that began December 25, 2011 in Washington, DC. It was initiated by several cousins (actual cousins and fake cousins) who felt like sitting down for a while. The Occupy Furniture protests were against walking, winter, doing anything they didn’t feel like doing, and any other spontaneous causes.

Often these cousins debated whether something they wanted to sit on was in fact considered ‘furniture’. It was decided that tables, chairs, couches, love seats, ottomans, benches, and even counter tops were considered furniture. Floors were definitely not furniture.

The movement, for the most part, has died down. Sitting on furniture still remains a very popular pass time, though.
